Project description • Inconvenience Store

Inconvenience Store is a short, looped 6-minute video projection work that site-specifically refers to the history of the local convenience store in Toronto. Where, once these small family-run stores were found throughout Toronto’s downtown neighbourhoods, changing demographics, shopping patterns and zoning bylaws along with a shift towards economies of scale have resulted in their closure or relocation to the city’s main streets. Convenience Gallery, itself once the site of such a store, currently does not sell milk.
