Drupal (pronounced /ˈ"drew-pull"/) is an amazing "content management system" or "CMS" that makes it possible for anyone to easily update their own website, and for organizations large and small to have a site rich with features such as calendars, e-commerce, FAQs, video and audio, registration forms, private areas, advocacy tools, maps--you name it, Drupal does it!
When web.net builds your website, we install the Drupal software on our own Toronto-based servers as part of your hosting package--it's free, and you don't need any special software on your on personal computer, nor do you need any special technical knowledge. Drupal is "Free and Open Source Software", which means you never have to pay a licence fee, no matter how many members, staff, or customers you have, and more importantly, it is constantly being upgraded by thousands of volunteers all over the world. Your organization can then benefit by integrating any of these new features in your own website. There is a huge, international Drupal community that produces books, online forums, online help, as well as cool new widgets for your website.
web.net also provides Drupal migration services. If you have an old, out-of-date Wordpress, Joomla, or even Drupal (version 6 or 7) website and are looking for an upgrade -- Drupal 8 may be for you. We will audit your current site and plan a migration path to ensure a smooth and seamless transition. Existing Drupal users should also know that Drupal 7 will reach end-of-life in November of 2021.
web.net is proud to be the leader in Canada in developing websites with Drupal. Our first Drupal website was for Jack Layton and the New Democratic Party of Canada and since then we have not only built sites for large charities, non-profits, unions, private enterprises, and government bodies, but we've also built our own Drupal applications supporting online advocacy, integration of Google Maps, file management, and tools that help groups work faster and smarter online.
web.net is also happy to assist you in maintaining your current Drupal site—we'll assess the current version and modules for security upgrades, and help you complete your "wish list" of improvements to your site.
